Science Week has begun at Merion Mercy, showcasing the innovative work and studies of Merion Mercy students while simultaneously providing several opportunities for students to discover and explore several fields–ranging from agriculture to zoology–in unique ways.

One "udderly amazing" activity: cows (and chickens) arrived on campus for a day.  Terra Rose Genetics, an award-winning dairy farm located in South Jersey and owned by the family of MMA science teacher Arielle Chard, brought two of their top-pedigreed dairy cows to visit. Ms. Chard and her sister were the handlers and teachers for the experience.   There were various aspects to the animals' visit, including bottle feeding, cow naming, agriculture trivia, games, and dairy showing demonstrations.

Agriculture holds many opportunities for a successful future, and this hands-on experience surely helped MMA students gain a different perspective on the study of agriculture as a whole and a reminder of its all-important role in our lives.
