The Pennsylvania Area Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association (PASLA) honored Merion Mercy with its Team Service Award. This prestigious recognition goes to the team most committed to community service during the 2016-17 academic year. Among the numerous service projects the lacrosse team participated in was Cinderella's Closet at Visitation in Kensington. For this event, they collected over 300 gently used prom dresses and assisted local girls from nine Philadelphia-area High School to find a dress, matching shoes, and jewelry. The team also held free lacrosse clinics for younger students and ran food drives, such as a collection of non-perishables for Mothers' Cupboard (open to families who are experiencing food insecurity).
The PASLA recognizes and represents high school girls’ lacrosse coaches in 150 member schools in Eastern Pennsylvania.
